This role sits at the intersection of design, engineering, and production. You will take ownership of the full technical design lifecycle—from initial shop drawings through factory coordination and final production approvals—ensuring every detail is accurate, buildable, and aligned with client expectations.
You will work closely with internal teams and overseas manufacturing partners to deliver high-quality, design-forward furniture and millwork solutions across a portfolio of hospitality projects.
What You’ll Own 1. Shop Drawings & Technical Development
- Produce detailed shop drawings using SolidWorks, including:
- Accurate dimensions, joinery, and section details

- Clear, professional drawing layouts and callouts
- Develop 3D models and renderings (KeyShot / Visualize) for internal and client presentations
- Translate client specification packages into production-ready documentation
- Balance design intent, ergonomics, and manufacturability
- Iterate through drawing versions (V1 → approval) based on internal and client feedback
- Proactively identify risks and gaps via RFIs and technical notes
2. Factory Coordination & Production Support
- Act as the primary liaison with overseas manufacturing partners via Microsoft Teams
- Issue approved drawing packages (DWGs, specs, materials) for production
- Review and approve factory drawings to ensure full alignment with approved designs
- Resolve production questions and issues in real time
- Review pre-production samples (PP) and production photos for:
- Quality
- Accuracy
- Finish and material compliance
- Escalate risks or deviations with clear recommendations
3. Change Management & Documentation
- Maintain 100% accuracy of the Material Matrix across all project updates
- Track all revisions via Change Logs and communicate updates to cross-functional teams
- Organize and maintain clean, up-to-date project documentation in Google Drive
- Update task progress daily in Monday.com to ensure visibility and workflow accuracy
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Design Managers, Project Managers, and production teams to drive execution
- Participate in:
- Weekly design reviews
- Internal project working sessions
- Monthly knowledge-sharing sessions
- Communicate clearly and proactively across Slack, Teams, and project management tools
- Guide stakeholders toward feasible, buildable solutions when constraints arise
Day-to-Day Rhythm
- Review and respond to factory communications (priority)
- Execute CAD work: shop drawings, revisions, and renderings
- Review factory drawings and production updates
- Manage task updates and redlines in Monday.com
- Collaborate with internal teams via Slack and Teams
Tools & Systems
- SolidWorks (core CAD + assemblies + drawings)
- KeyShot / SolidWorks Visualize (rendering)
- Adobe Acrobat (markups and redlines)
- Microsoft Teams (factory communication)
- Monday.com (project tracking)
- Slack (internal communication)
- Google Drive / Sheets (documentation & material tracking)
