About Edward Martin
Edward Martin is a design-led brand offering high-end tile, lighting, and home décor. We believe that the digital experience should be as tactile and timeless as the materials we sell. For our Product Design team, this means building an e-commerce platform that doesn’t just transact, but inspires—translating the nuance of texture and light into a seamless, intuitive digital journey. As we scale, we are building a world-class UX team to ensure our online presence feels as premium as a physical showroom.
About the role
We are seeking a Senior UX/UI Designer who balances structural thinking with an obsession for visual craft. In this role, you will drive best-in-class usability while ensuring pixel-perfect execution across our e-commerce platforms. You will collaborate closely with UX Research to validate concepts, but you will also be the guardian of our visual language—creating rich, interactive prototypes and UI systems that elevate the brand and delight customers at every touchpoint.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and iterate complex e-commerce user flows, wireframes, and interactive experiences for both desktop and mobile platforms.
- Build and maintain interactive prototypes for stakeholder testing and usability validation, using modern prototyping tools.
- Synchronize and regularly align with product managers, developers, and researchers to ensure seamless integration of research insights into design solutions.
- Set the standard for innovative, engaging interactive UIs; ensure the team continuously pushes for creative and effective user interactions.
- Collaborate directly with a Design System Team to help build and maintain a company-wide design system used across products.
- Champion data-driven interaction design: closely collaborate with the UX research team to interpret findings and translate user insights into actionable design improvements.
- Facilitate and participate in design reviews and critiques, to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Document design decisions and rationale for cross-team clarity.
- Stay ahead of e-commerce UX trends and best practices.
Requirements
- Experience in interaction design, UI/UX, or similar hands-on e-commerce design role.
- Strong prototyping skills with tools such as Figma, ProtoPie, or similar, plus basic proficiency in design systems.
- Demonstrated ability to set standards, drive innovation, and collaborate with UX research and design system teams.
- Familiarity with e-commerce CMS and agile workflows
- Portfolio showcasing exceptional, creative interaction and prototyping work for e-commerce platforms.
- Strong communication and organizational skills; comfortable presenting design concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Deep understanding of usability, accessibility, and user-centric e-commerce principles.
Nice to Have
- Experience with continuous UX improvement based on A/B testing and analytics
- Background in facilitating workshops or design sprints with UX research participation.
- Hands-on experience designing interfaces or interactions for AI-driven features, such as personalization engines, AI chatbots, or predictive analytics tools in e-commerce contexts.
