Accounting Manager

                Plan A Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Accounting Manager to lead and execute core accounting functions in a fast-paced, startup-style environment for a home service business. This role requires a hands-on accounting professional who can operate with minimal guidance, dig into complex accounting matters, and take full ownership from issue identification through resolution. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting expertise, thrives in ambiguity, and is comfortable supporting a growing organization with multiple branches and evolving processes.
A Big 4 background is highly beneficial. An ideal candidate is one who is accustomed to complex accounting issues, meets tight deadlines, and has high standards of accuracy.

Please note: you must have at least 7+ years of progressive accounting experience to be considered for this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY
- Own and manage day-to-day accounting operations across multiple branches/entities
- Ensure accurate financial records in compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Investigate, resolve, correct, and document complex accounting issues
- Perform and review detailed account reconciliations and variance analyses
- Manage transactional accounting in a fast-paced environment
- Prepare and review journal entries, payroll entries, month-end close activities, and supporting schedules
- Maintain and optimize accounting processes within QuickBooks Online
- Build and maintain Excel-based workbooks and/or reconciliations, analyses, and reports
- Operate independently while driving issues to resolution with limited oversight
- Support audits, reviews, and external reporting requirements
- Collaborate cross-functionally while maintaining ownership of deliverables

EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated experience resolving complex, non-routine accounting issues
- Ability to thrive in a high-transaction, high-growth, startup environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Be able to work cross functional to get projects completed.

- Outstanding communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA designation (preferred)
- Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Experience in startup, high-growth, or multi-branch organizations
- Prior experience managing or mentoring accounting staff (formal or informal)
- Audit support and technical accounting experience
